New window tint needs a little time and the right care to look its best for years. Most of what goes wrong comes from a few common mistakes, all easy to avoid.
Give it time to cure
After installation, the film needs time to fully bond to the glass. Avoid rolling your windows down for at least 3 to 5 days. Reno's cooler months can slow curing, so when the weather is cold, it's better to wait a little longer.
Clean the right way
- Use an ammonia-free cleaner made for tinted windows, or a mild soap and water.
- Wipe with a soft microfiber cloth, not paper towels or abrasive pads.
- Avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners, which can break down the film over time.
Watch the small things
Don't press on the film from the inside, don't use sharp objects near the edges, and be careful with window-mounted accessories that can scratch the surface.
Small bubbles or haze?
A few tiny water pockets are normal in the first few days and usually disappear as the film cures. If you see larger bubbles, peeling at the edges, or persistent haziness after a couple of weeks, call us. Most issues are covered under our warranty.
